AFTER SCHOOL RECREATION
Held daily Monday through Friday beginning August 4, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. This is a FREE supervised program that includes: arts and
crafts, sports, computer educational games and programs, drama, and dance all of which are geared at motivating the imagination and
creativity of participating children.
HOMEWORK HELP
Monday through Thursdays from 3:00 to 4:00 pm all activity at the center will be directed toward school homework, reading, or class projects.
HOMEWORK AND HELP CHART
The Homework and Help Chart is a motivational program for the children to do their homework and help out around the center. Whenever the children finish their homework at the center they earn points towards prizes in the Treasure Chest of Mystery. Children can also earn points by doing worksheets provided by the center or by lending an extra hand to the staff when it is needed. A pizza dance party will be held for those children who complete the homework and Help Chart.
FOOD DEMONSTRATIONS
Staff will prepare healthy snack demonstrations two to three times a week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Check the monthly
calendar to find out what snacks are being prepared for each month.
EARLY RELEASE DAYS
Come join us for fun, cookouts and special nutrition education activities and demonstrations.

BUG MONTH
The Month of September
Do you like bugs? Do you like learning about bugs? Do you like making bugs? If so, then come to Len Colla Recreation Center during the month of September. We will be making buggy crafts and eating buggy snacks. Don’t worry, there won’t be any real bugs in the snacks. We will also be learning about different bugs and insects and what they eat and how they live!
Tuesdays: 2, 9, 16, 23 – Bug crafts and bug snacks!
Fridays: 5, 12, 26 – Come join us and watch a buggy movie!
MEXICAN INDEPENDENCE KIDS CELEBRATION
Friday, September 16
Come Celebrate the Diez Y Seis De Septiembre Holiday by creating your own Mexican crafts! We’ll have games, music, food and more!

Len Colla Recreation Center will be hosting an Open House to any parents/families interested in getting a look inside the center and meeting the recreation staff. This will also be an opportunity to
ask questions and give suggestions. There will be free food and refreshments to all guests.
SCARY MOVIE
Fridays: 3, 10, 24
Every Friday in October we will be watching a scary movie at 3:45 pm. Come join us for the fun and get into the Halloween spirit!
WEIRD SCIENCE DAY
Friday, October 17
Come join us for fun and crazy science experiments! We will be making a Mentos Fountain, Quicksand and other crazy experiments!
